I am pleased that you have chosen to bring your child for an office visit with me at RMC and I look forward to meeting you! In an effort to meet your child’s needs re: immunizations, kindly advise me whether or not you believe that your child is due for their vaccines. If we know in advance, we will make every effort to have them available on the day that you are scheduled to see me.

The Mandated Immunization Schedule as per MOH:
6 weeks: DTP-HepB-Hib + IPV
3 months: DTP-HepB-Hib + OPV
6 months: DTP-HepB-Hib + OPV
12 months: MMR
18 months: DTP/OPV + MMR
4-6 years DTP/OPV
11-12 years: Td/OPV
(Of note: we do not have BCG available which is usually given at birth)
DTP: Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis
IPV: Injectable Polio
OPV: Oral Polio
HepB: Hepatitis B
MMR: Measles-Mumps-Rubella
Td: Tetanus

Alternative Vaccines and Schedules

Many parents have heard about the “alternative vaccines” that can either replace the mandated MOH immunizations or supplement them. Often times, parents of children born abroad may request these, however, anyone can request them AND if your child was born abroad it does not mean he/she must obtain the same vaccines – as they can be quite cost-prohibitive. These vaccines can be pre-ordered and we can discuss them during our office visit.

School Medicals

Please be sure to carry the following to our office visit:
1. School Medical Form with parental information completed – this usually comes in the form of a questionnaire that queries your child’s past medical history and family history

2. Copy of Immunization Card or “Passport”
